Proposed Quadrilla Meeting

Further to my note on the meeting with Quadrilla re: fracking I have had some residents expressing a concern that we are not having an open village meeting. Just to clear up the position Quadrilla will not hold an open meeting therefore I felt it was better to have a meeting where we can get their view and ask questions than have no meeting at all.

I do appreciate and welcome views from everybody and would ask that you let me know if you are happy or not for a meeting to take place under the terms I originally said. If a majority do not want the meeting to take place as I mentioned I will cancel the meeting with Quadrilla.

Please let me have your views on this as I will not proceed with this meeting if that is the view of residents.

Thanks Paul  (Tel.  318077)

Quadrilla and Fracking Issue

Gabrielle and I will be meeting with Quadrilla on the 14th March to discuss the issue of fracking. This is not a meeting with the whole village as it will, in my opinion, end up as a free for all and we will not get as many answers to our questions as we would like. I hope that is OK with everybody. I will ask a couple of people who have shown an interest in this matter to attend.

To get the best from this meeting I would like anybody who has any questions to let Gabrielle or I have the questions and we will ask them on your behalf. This is your opportunity to have your concerns put to the people who are potentially doing the fracking, so if you do not take this chance please do not complain at a later stage.

Thanks
Paul

Pocklington Provincial Update for February 2016

1.    Priority
Issue: Pocklington Town Centre area (Evenings):

Throughout February, we are to continue our High Visibility patrols of the Pocklington Town Centre area to deter potential anti-social behaviour. These patrols include regular checks on peripheral areas at Pocklington Infants’ School, Maxwell Road (periodic reports of criminal damage and youths causing annoyance), All Saints Church (periodic reports of anti-social behaviour on an evening) and town car parks (reports of low level anti-social behaviour). Criminal offenders will be challenged robustly, arrested or reported for summons. Penalty Notices for Disorder or warning letters may be used in appropriate cases however, those who offend should expect to be arrested and dealt with if their anti social behaviour amounts to criminal offending.  The exercise of discretion should not be expected.

2.    Priority

5.    News and Appeals
YOUR HOME – KEEP IT SAFE, KEEP IT LOCKED
Burglary is by and large an opportunistic crime, with burglars looking for a home that gives them the easiest way of committing their crime undetected and with the fewest obstacles to negotiate.  In many cases burglars do not need to use ANY force to gain entry which can be via an insecure window or door.  So how can you keep your home and property safe?
Make your home looked lived-in by leaving a radio on or a light on a timer switch to make the house sound and look occupied
If you are going away remember to cancel the milk or newspapers.  Don’t make it obvious to burglars you are away.  Don't close your curtains - in daytime this shows the house is empty. Use timer switches on lights instead and if possible ask a trusted neighbour to close your curtains in the evening, to collect your post and also ask if they would park their car on your drive whilst you are away.
Never leave your spare keys in a hiding place such as under a doormat, in a flowerpot or inside a letterbox.
Make sure you use a burglar alarm (if you have one) every time you leave the house.
Secure your garden with a fence and a lockable gate.
Don’t leave tools or ladders in the garden to assist burglars and secure your wheelie bins away from your house, fences and walls.
Think about installing a movement activated floodlight as it can unnerve burglars.
Keep doors and windows locked even when at home.
Don’t leave valuables on view or on window sills and keep your car keys hidden out of sight.
If your property is stolen make sure you can describe it to the Police by keeping a record and photographs of makes, models and unique serial numbers etc.
You can also register all your details onto WWW.immobilise.com.  This is a web based property records system, endorsed and searchable by all UK Police Forces and second hand dealers.
